We fitted this fantastic motorised awning to a lovely property in Southampton, overlooking the River Itchen. The sliding patio doors needed some extra shade to keep the rooms at the back of the house cooler. The awning also provides shade for the stepped patio that leads onto the garden toward the river. This six-metre awning is in a traditional striped fabric with a scalloped valance and colour-matched brackets to blend in with the property’s white window frames.
Awning Brackets for Patio and Bifold Doors
Awnings are a great way of providing shade for modern buildings with large bifold or sliding doors. However, to fit bifold door awnings over five metres, we need a centre fixing point for support. To do this we fabricate special awning brackets that are fitted at either end of an awning, usually to the wall. We then add a top post which creates a goal-post style frame that can hold the centre bracket. These special awning brackets are produced in stainless steel or mild steel for sturdiness and then painted to match the colour of the existing window frames.
