Just because the temperatures have dropped and the nights are drawing in it doesn’t mean you have to stop using your awning. In fact, an awning can be enjoyed and used all year round. Here are a few ideas of how to make the most of your awning during the cold winter months…
Add Some Sparkle
Nothing evokes the spirit of winter and Christmas more than pretty white fairy lights and lanterns. Simply string some fairy lights around the outside of your house and garden, decorate potted plants and add a few candle lit glass lanterns to your patio space to create a warm, festive ambience. Or, if you fancy a more permanent light source, consider an awning light bar which will provide you with light under your awning all year round.
Enjoy Winter Blooms
Brighten up your winter garden or patio with a few winter plant pots. Choose from pretty winter flowers such as Snow Drops, Jacqueline Postill, winter Jasmine and Cyclamen, or why not hang a bit of festive Holly and the all important Mistletoe!
Take off the chill with an infrared awning heater which will provide you with plenty of instant heat under your awning so you can sit back and relax in your outdoor space whatever the temperature outside. Today’s outdoor heaters are very efficient so will generate lots of heat without running up your electricity bill.
Make the most of a bright crisp cold day by relaxing under your awning with a good book or the newspapers. Cradle a cup of tea to keep your hands warm and stay cosy with plenty of sumptuous blankets, cushions and throws. You could even keep a basket of blankets by the back door ready for you to grab when the opportunity to get outside arises.
Eat Al Fresco
Imagine the warm glow of the BBQ, sausages and steaks gently smoking away on the grill all whilst enjoying a glass of mulled wine. BBQ’s aren’t just for the summer, they can be great fun on dry winter nights too. Your awning will provide you and your guests with a sheltered area to relax in and enjoy your gastro delights. Maybe add a sparkler or two for a bit of extra fun!
